Winter training at Murcia

From Sunday February the 24th until March the 3rd there will be a training week at CAR, Los Alcazeros (near Murcia, fly to Allicante)

Program;
Sunday February the 24th: Unpacking, shake down
Monday until Friday training sessions in the morning (10 am and afternoon (2 pm)) plus briefing and debriefing.
Saturday March 2 and Sunday March 3 Spanish A-class regatta(20-30 boats)

Rooms can be booked at the club. Both breakfast and lunch possible at this excellent club.

Sail Area is the Mar Menor, one of Europe's best sailing spots, where we sailed the Europeans several years ago. Light to medium winds in the morning, good see breeze after lunch.

In the training week we will work on:

• The set up of the boats (daggerboard rake, mast rake , battens, fitting out the boat
• Sail technique (trapezing downwind, tacking, gybing, rounding marks)
• Speed checks (line ups)
• Sail trim (adjusting you trim while racing)

We expect people form Holland (6), Germany (1 or ...), France , the UK 1and Spain.

The event is open to all A-class sailors (DNA and non-DNA). A fee may be asked for some training sessions (cost for trainer and RIB).

The Dutch container is already fully booked. We can arrange other shipments as well.(or just drive by car, it is 600 kilometers under Barcelona). 

PJ and Arno will be available to sort out your set-up. Sjoerd Hoekstra will be the trainer, he has organized some well appreciated clinics in the Netherlands.

ARC will bring extra winglets and other parts (footstraps).

We will bring 5 boats with the new daggerboards. (Arno, PJ, Manolo, Micky, Sjoerd)

Some 2012 boats (Mark, Benny, Manfred, Jan)

The whole event is an excellent opportunity to prepare yourself for the 2013 Season and especially for the Europeans in Barcelona. We will test different rig options (Landy-ARC. Mischa-ARC, Ashby- ARC, Brewin-ARC). Micky and Chris (Pinkhammer- Saarberg),Manolo (Ashby-FF), we will compare the curved boards and the J-boards and most people will have or put winglets on their boats.
