i did fly today for the first time myself on the j-boards. Just twice for about 20 seconds under a rain squall, but it is a start.
I was sailing in 14 knots of breeze on flat water when a rain squall hit me, the boat speeded up till 19 knots while i bore away and suddenly i was just on the board and rudder. I was both terrified and excited but got more control than expected.
After that there was less wind but i could keep the boat in a skimming mode similar to the GC 32 video.
After the flight i was laughing as i just had a wow experience.
Unfortunately no RIB present, when we had the rib we had less wind.
To keep it flying you have to step forward a bit, which i reluctantly did as it goes against my previous experiences.
Mischa had the same flight experience in la grande motte even with waves.
Good performance, T-foil rudders or just winglet?

Pop the battery ribbon connector out and
ReplyDeleteremove the battery, again held in with a dab of glue. So, follow the battery power saving tips above to get the most bang for your buck.
If a LED is used instead of a bulb, the connections will require a bit
more attention.
